Les Pélicans Vase by L. Alaurent, 1950

Large enameled ceramic vase decorated with Pélicans with deployed wings. The colors are nuanced and offer a gradient of greens highlighting large white birds.
Below, we find the artist’s signature: Lucien Alaurent. Meilleur Ouvrier de France, he was a student of the National School of Ceramics in Sèvres and decorator at the National Manufacture of Porcelain in Sèvres. He was the author of the “practical ceramic decoration treaty” appeared in 1960.
