Great early 20th-century Thonet curved wooden coat stand, with 8 coat hooks and 8 wooden curls for hats.
At the bottom of the thick column a ring for sticks and umbrellas.
The type of wood is beech, which was first steamed and then bent according to the old Thonet technique, resulting in, among other things, beautifully streamlined chairs and coat racks.
The wood of this sturdy coat rack has a vibrant color with a warm natural patina acquired over time.
Not only a utensil that impresses with its substantial height and sturdy appearance, but of course also a beautiful honest old decoration in your entryway.
Michael Thonet (July 2, 1796 – March 3, 1871) was a German-Austrian furniture maker, and the inventor of bentwood
furniture.
Condition: Overall good with some signs of age, please see detail photos.
