A set of four French Baccarat chrysoprase (uranium) green opaline art glass covered cups, each with matching stands.
The beautiful green body of these is quite extraordinary and applied with gilt decoration. Each cup has a cover with ball finial, each saucer is frilled . It is hard to imagine just what would be served in these. Tea? punch.?An exotic dessert perhaps. This color enters the palette of French glass in the 1840s. It has been suggested that these were made for the Turkish Market.
