A fine and well preserved mahogany & gilt bronze canapé from the Second Empire Period under the reign of Napoleon III. Absolutely wonderful condition, seat cushion has been redone in a lovely full grain textured grey leather—traditional sprung seat with horsehair and cotton bedding.
All original ormolus present and intact, beautifully carved ornamental lion’s heads carvings complete the sweeping arms. Cross sabre legs terminating in lion’s paws feet support a curved seat frame—stunning details throughout.
