A striking and most impressive pair of French 19th century Napoleon III period Ebony, Tortoiseshell, brass, ormolu, and black Belgian marble Boulle cabinet vitrines. Each vitrine is raised by an elegant scalloped shaped Ebony base with beautiful scrolled foliate mounts and a richly chased central mask of Bacchus. Striking columns lead up each side with intricately detailed inlaid brass foliate designs set on an outstanding Tortoiseshell background and superb scrolled foliate ormolu mounts. At the center is a single door retaining its original glass pane framed within a remarkable wrap around foliate ormolu band and additional wonderfully executed inlaid brass foliate designs set on a Tortoiseshell background and displaying a single and a faux ormolu keyhole escutcheon. The Ebony side panels each display striking richly chased central masks and lovely corner rosettes framed within ormolu or brass fillets. The elegantly curved capital like tops also displays exceptional brass inlaid designs with lovely most decorative floral patterns all below Les Oves designed ormolu bands and the original black Belgian marble tops.
