A beautifully inlaid and ebonized French centre table from the Napoleon III Era or third quarter of the 19th century. The table rests on four turned ebonized legs joined at the bottom with a cross stretcher. The exedra shaped top is decorated in various exotic woods, ebony, burled walnut, kingwood; the central cartouche depicting various musical instruments is bordered with arabesques as are the two D-shaped drop leaves; the top and leaves are bordered in a gilt bronze. There is a single drawer to one side.
