This chest of drawers from the Nantes region of the 18th century, all in solid amaranth, is composed of three drawers in the front with a drop in the center, of the same size. Each drawer has two brass handles with finely chiseled interior plate representing pastoral scenes of children playing with animals. In the center of each drawer we find a chiseled brass entrance with an original lock and its fitted key, all in perfect working order.
On each side, this piece of furniture is equipped with half-rounded feet with four grooves. They end with a spindle-shaped turned part.
The sides of this chest of drawers are composed of a small panel of solid amaranth horizontal wire in the upper part and a panel of vertical wire, larger, in the lower part.
The back legs are made of two flutes and end like the front.
The top of this exceptional chest of drawers is made of solid amaranth with a groove around the edge. The corners are rounded and a drop in the center brings singularity to this unique furniture.
This Louis XVI chest of drawers from the 18th century is authentic, with no added elements except for the keys. Its quality and the rarity of its solid rot proof wood usually used in veneer only make it a remarkable piece of furniture with deep shades with its wood top and not marble as it was usual at the time.
