A very fine and large French Empire style Napoleon III gilt bronze Surtout-de-table, now a coffee table with later gilt bronze legs with paw-feet, with a finely chased grape and vine border and mirror plate top, in the manner of Pierre-Philippe Thomire (French, 1751–1843). The gilt-bronze legs are circa: Paris, 1900. The Surtout-de-Table is circa: Paris, 1860-1870.

The quality of the bronze legs and gilt are as high quality compatible with the centerpiece. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. A truly beautiful and very rare coffee table made out of a Gilt-Bronze Surtout-de-Table (Centerpiece), Fine chasing, original gilt and the later legs with paw feet are also finely cast, chased and gilt. Mirror has some age silvering losses or peeling.
