19th Century French Neoclassical Louis XVI Mahogany Nightstand with Carrara Marble is an extraordinary example of the finest materials and craftsmanship being combined to produce an instant family heirloom. Exotic imported mahogany was used for the casework, which appears to contain six drawers in front, but in reality the second and third drawers are really a drop down cabinet door that opens to reveal a Carrara marble lining inside. That leaves four drawers for exceptional organization and storage possibilities. Each drawer is finely trimmed in molding and fitted with a turned mahogany knob. The casework also features mitered corners which softens the impact on the room, and which has been continued in the molding around the honed Carrara marble top which provides carefree elegance in a neutral color tone. A bold base molding with bun feet completes the affair, which is finished all around making it a good choice for placement in other rooms and applications.
