Distinctive 19th century walnut daybed or bench seat made in the grand French Napoleon III period. The walnut frame features large round padded bolsters on each end decorated with stylized floral motifs. Supported by eight neoclassical fluted column legs ending in square feet. The bed is topped with a large pillow cushion. Newly upholstered in a white cotton fabric with piping. The seat measures 18 inches high without the pillow cushion. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with an aged patina on the walnut finish. Each side of the bed has two center legs that are slightly canted for further architectural intrigue. Provenance: From the estate of artist Ira Yeager (American 1933-2022) Napa Valley, CA.
