Create an elegant bar area with this complete antique liquor box. Created in France circa 1870, and rectangular in shape with serpentine front, the Tantalus stands on small round feet. The box is decorated with marquetry and brass inlaid medallions on the top and facade; it is further embellished with a two-tone marquetry band around the edges. The decorative “cave à liqueur” features a lift top door and swing side doors; when opened, the cabinet reveals a removable brass caddy dressed with a decorative handle, and fitted with 16 glass cordials and four matching carafes with cut-glass stoppers. Each glass and decanter is decorated with floral and foliage etched motifs. The Classic Napoleon III bar essential is in excellent condition, complete, and adorns a rich patinated French polished finish throughout. Original key included.
