A subtle twist on a timeless classic, this Louis Philippe mirror has four rounded corners, whereas the traditional Louis Philippe only has rounded upper corners. Also of note, the mirror has several layers of alternating cavetto and quarter-round moldings, but no additional ornamentation. Louis Philippe mirrors are known for their subtle embellishments, which are generally carved into the most prominent molding. The giltwood frame has a lustrous gold color with some areas of mottled patina that is accentuated by the slight loss of silvering to the glass, giving the mirror added character. Our giltwood Louis Philippe mirror was hand-carved in France, circa 1850, and would be a fantastic addition to any wall of the house. It can be paired with any style of interior design from ancien regime to contemporary.

Albin Preissler hand crafted Advent candle holder – 4 Standing Angles in natural wood. The main pedestal is formed by four standing angels encircling a Christmas star in the center. It comes with four reaching arms for holding Advent candles, along with brass drip pans. Unassembled new item, minor manufacturing imperfections. The end of the Christmas star shows slight paint loss from storage.

About the manufacturer: The family business Seiffener Kunsthandwerk Albin Preißler is the oldest manufacturer of Advent candle holders in the toy village of Seiffen in the Ore Mountains. Since its establishment in 1919, the Preißlers’ workshop has been dedicated to crafting exquisite candle holders. Hugo Albin Preißler was already a turner and foreman in the light factory Zimmermann & Co. in the first years of the 20th century and became independent after the First World War. His son Albin Rudolf Preißler passed the master turner’s examination in 1949, took over the business in 1953 and expanded the range to include the popular Christmas articles. Today, his daughter Steffi and her husband Hartmut Bauer run the workshop, which maintains the traditional Ore Mountains folk and wood art at a high level with real handwork.
