A French Napoléon III period Alsatian wooden center table from the mid 19th century, with carved stacked-coin style motifs, foliage and natural patina. Created in the Eastern region of Alsace during the reign of Emperor Napoléon III in the 1850s, this center table charms us with its rustic character and beautifully carved décor. The table features a rectangular planked top sitting above a single drawer with dovetail construction, adorned in its center with a wooden pull on a large medallion carved with delicate foliage. It is the décor of stacked coins however, which attracts the attention, as it is adorning the apron on three sides as well as the knees. Boasting a natural patina with nicely weathered appearance revealing the table’s age, the table is raised on four tapered legs with fluted accents. With its clean lines and skillfully carved décor, this 1850s French Napoléon III center table from Alsace will make for a great addition to any living room or foyer!.
