Vintage Design
Upholstered bentwood chair designed by Jan Bočan for the Czechoslovak embassy in Stockholm and produced by Dřevopodnik Holešov. Zdeněk Rothbauer, Jan Šrámek, and many other renowned designers collaborated on the construction of the embassy, designing a brutalist building with a unique interior. This chair was created by Jan Bočan as a part of the furnishings for the embassy’s meeting room. The frame is made up of wooden slats bent into an atypical shape and covered with a walnut veneer. The original upholstery was not well preserved, so we have replaced it with new leather covering. The entire chair has undergone a complete renovation in our workshop, including restoration of the wooden parts and reupholstery.
