Pair of early 20th Century Louis XV style French walnut bedside tables. This pair of French ‘tables de chevet’ was created in the early years of the 20th century, at a time when the country revisited the rococo style that marked the reign of King Louis XV as a means of reviving national pride and heritage. Each of these exquisite side tables features a beautifully inlaid tray top. The tables are adorned with a fine tongue-and-groove drawer. Decorated with carved side posts and a carved apron and a door adorned with marquetry and a bronze handle. It is raised on four low and slender cabriolet legs, typical of the Louis XV period. The set is delicate and elegant, with beautiful marquetry and lines that will add a touch of sophistication to any room, especially a bedroom where they can be used to put next to a bed.
